WorldDAB has chosen Paris as the location of its next General Assembly. For two days, Nov. 7–8, the topic will be DAB radio. The General Assembly will bring together over 200 digital radio experts to discuss the future of radio, DAB+ deployments around the world, and a European vision of digital radio.

More and more districts are being filled up by local radio on DAB. Still, there are some areas that are empty, but now Media Authority has received applications for licenses in Hardanger and East Finnmark.

The latest market report from WorldDAB reveals that by the end of the second quarter of 2017, nearly 60 million receivers DAB/DAB+ consumer and automotive (58,432,000) have been sold in Europe and Asia Pacific, up from 48 million a year ago.

The report covers Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and the UK, along with DAB rollout status for emerging markets in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

From today, all VRT stations (Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara, Studio Brussels, MNM) and the additional digital channels (MNM Hits, Klara Continuo, VRT NWS) will now be available on DAB+.
