Digital radio speaks "magically" to 80% of Italians listening to the radio every day. From 1 August, DAB Italia together with EuroDAB Italia, RAS Radiotelevisione Special Company Autonomous Province of Bolzano Alto Adige and many consortia of local broadcasters are promoting digital radio with a month long multi-media campaign to a reach of over 23 million listeners.

The government wants to discuss the exit date as soon as more than 50 percent of the population listen to radio on digital channels. This could already be the case in 2018.
