Kult Radio launches on DAB+ in Bavaria
12.01.2015 - GermanyKult Radio today launched on DAB+ on Channel 12D.
"Cult Radio is the first Bavaria-wide private station broadcasting from Franconia" said media manager Peter Maisel.
At KULT RADIO music will play the the cult hits of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s with news,weather and traffic.

LG "bringing DAB smartphones to German market "
11.01.2015 - GermanyPhone manufacture LG is rumoured to be launching its first smartphone with DAB+. Phones with DAB+ already existed in China, this will be the first launch of this type of product in Germany. Expected launch is in said to be in March 2015.

Government detail local DAB network expansion for 2015-16
09.01.2015 - United KingdomThe Government will shortly announce details of a major expansion of local DAB transmitters, with 182 new transmitters across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The programme of work to to build out the local DAB network is scheduled to begin March 2015.

Industry reacts to planned local DAB expansion
09.01.2015 - United KingdomThe Government is about to announce details of a major expansion of local DAB transmitters, with 182 new transmitters across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The plan will also allow modifications to 49 other sites and will take the population coverage of local stations on DAB from 76% today to 91.2% within 18 months. The first new transmitters will be built in March 2015 and the programme will complete by September 2016. In total, nearly 40,000km of roads will be covered by the local DAB signal.

Local UK DAB roll-out: expanded coverage transmitter list
09.01.2015 - United KingdomBetween March 2015 and September 2016, local DAB digital radio coverage will be boosted to cover around 90% of UK homes and many more miles of on-road coverage.
The agreement will allow 5 new DAB transmitters to launch bringing local DAB to Suffolk for the first time.
Outlined are the changes planned for each local DAB multiplex affected by the plans.

EBU Digital Radio Toolkit 'Compete on content, co-operate in technology'
06.01.2015 - European Broadcasting Union (EBU) WorldDAB Member - SwitzerlandA major research project led by the Media Intelligence Service of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has identified a range of factors central to the successful deployment of terrestrial radio digitisation across Europe.
The launch of the ‘Digital Radio Toolkit’ follows a six month-long investigation into the experiences and best practices of the three countries which are leading the launch of digital terrestrial radio in Europe: Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
