To inform Swiss residents about the transition to digital radio, OFCOM will launch an information campaign to run from 2019 at a budget of 5.5m francs, and is running a public tender to advertising agencies to run the campaign.

Dorothee Bär, German minister of State for Digitization discusses the transition taking place to DAB+ radio in Germany. "The priority is for market participants to develop a transition scenario, something that has been well done in other countries. In the center of attention will be the question of when enough listeners listen to the radio digitally, so that a change is possible."

Switzerland's Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) has put out a mandate for a four-year information campaign on DAB+, starting from 2019 and with a budget of 5.5 million francs aimed at raising awareness and promoting use of DAB+ digital radio.

The TechnoTrend P1 is a portable DAB+/FM radio with a 2.4-inch color display with 6-centimeter screen to display additional digital information such as station logo, played track or radio text. Operation is via two large rotary switches.

Carine Lea Chardon from German electrical industry association ZVEI: "From the point of view of ZVEI, the current conflict over the future of FM radio offers the opportunity to further raise awareness of the advantages of digital radio in public. Radio should not be left as the only infrastructure in the analogue."
