Africa radio launches on DAB+ in Marseille
28.02.2020 - FranceAfrica Radio has started broadcasting on DAB+ technology in Marseille and the surrounding region. The station, which is already available on DAB+ in Paris, Lyon, Lille, Strasbourg, Nantes, Rouen, Le Havre and Saint-Nazaire, is also set to launch in Nice, Toulouse and Bordeaux in coming years.

Plans revealed for Germany's second national mutiplex
28.02.2020 - GermanyAntenne Deutschland's launch of Germany's second national multiplex - the first exclusively dedicated to commercial radio stations - will take place in September 2019 during IFA Berlin. Antenne Deutschland has commissioned National German Radio to launch a call for tenders for the capacity allocation on the multiplex - more details set to be published in early March.

54% of new cars in Germany sold with digital radio
24.02.2020 - GermanyAccording to the annual report published by the German automobile trust, 54% of new cars sold in Germany in 2019 were equipped with digital radio - a 34 percent increase compared to 2018. Sales of consumer radios in Germany also reached 1.5 million in 2019, a 6.6% increase compared to the previous year.

German national legislation on digital radio - English version
24.02.2020 - GermanyThis document outlines Germany's new national legislation on digital radio in English. According to the revised law, all radios in new cars should be capable of receiving digital terrestrial radio from 21st Dec 2020 – as required by the European Electronic Communications Code. The law also requires all new consumer radios, capable of displaying a station’s name, to be able to receive digital signals (for example, DAB+ or IP) – from the same date.

RFI to launch on DAB+ in Marseille
