Medialaan, the owner of the Flemish version of Q-Music and Joe FM has added three new stations on channel 11A: Q Music Non-Stop, Joe FM 70s and Joe FM 80s. The official commissioning of DAB+ Flanders is planned for September.

That's on top of the extensive kit offered in the Elite grade, including smart key and push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, tinted windows, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a reversing camera, an 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with built-in sat nav, DAB / DAB+ digital radio, an eight-speaker sound system with subwoofer, leather seats, two-way electrically adjustable driver's seat with electric lumbar adjustment, heated and folding exterior mirrors, and front and rear USB power outlets.

The car gets a bold new look, a roomier interior and a host of technology. In addition, its interior appears plusher, thanks to the use of higher-quality materials, and gains a new infotainment system with a 7.0in or an 8.0in touchscreen. This includes a DAB radio, sat-nav and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring.

German company, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, has upgraded its DAB+ software library to enhance the reception sensitivity of radio receivers. The company says this extends the range of coverage for broadcasters and increases the number of channels that can be received in vehicles.

The Teufel Radio 3sixty has just three start channels, namely FM, DAB+ and internet radio. Five favorite FM, DAB and Internet radio stations or Spotify playlists can be stored.

Digital station United DJs has added the Portsmouth small-scale DAB multiplex to its transmission areas this weekend. An official launch was held at an event on the Isle of Wight with presenter Mike Read in attendance. Leading the charge for the growth of digital radio is Commercial Radio Australia (CRA), the national industry body representing Australia’s commercial radio broadcasters. At the helm is CEO Joan Warner, who said digital radio’s success is based around one key point of difference: variety.
