Radio innovates fully in a world that is becoming increasingly digital. The combination between DAB+ and IP provides an optimal user experience for listeners in smartspeakers and connected cars.

In the Netherlands, 1.08 million DAB+ radios have been sold, with around 300,000 in the past year. In the first half of 2018, 38 percent of the newly sold cars drove out of the garage with standard DAB+ on board.

In imitation to its neighbour's activities in the Netherlands, the Belgian region of Flanders will host a "Week of Digital Radio" events from 12-16 November, where national and local broadcasters airing in the region will devote its programming to promote digital radio.

The deadline for applications for the 13 new DAB+ regions across France is imminent, and regulator has therefore called information meetings to respond to the various questions from all potential candidates.

Since 1 October, the call for interest of the NRW State Institute for Media (LfM NRW) has been running to determine interest in DAB+ in North Rhine-Westphalia. The call for interest runs until 29 October, by which time radio broadcasters can submit their requests via an online form to the Medienanstalt.
