SRG and private radio associations plan marketing campaign for DAB+

BBC national DAB radio reaches 95% population

The BBC has launched a further 20 national DAB transmitters bringing the total number of transmitters to 299 and covering more than 95 percent of the UK population. This is part of the current phase of their digital radio network expansion plan, bringing a further two million people into the coverage area and increasing coverage from 93 percent to 97 percent by the end of 2015.

LDC pledges public support for Listen2Digital

Listen2Digital, one of the two bidders for the second national commercial digital multiplex, has received the public support of private equity firm LDC. Phil Riley, Chairman of Orion Media said: “It’s great to see LDC, one of the UK’s leading private equity firms, publicly backing our bid for a second national DAB multiplex. LDC has longstanding and continued involvement with Orion Media, and I’m delighted they are committed to supporting Listen2Digital and the future of radio.”

The Minister for Economic Affairs has spoken of his commitment to have new more cars equipped with DAB+ as standard. Abroad, automakers continue to deliver more of their cars with DAB+ radio as standard. In the United Kingdom and Norway, more than 60% of all new cars come with a standard DAB+ receiver.

Regional public broadcasters start broadcasting Digital Radio

Regional public and commercial broadcasters in the Netherlands will soon begin broadcasting on DAB+. The broadcasts will begin on 15 March in 9D (South West Netherlands) and will launch in phases.
