Digital Radio Germany launches first exclusive DAB+ online receiver store

As online shopping continues to grow, Digitalradio Buro Deutschland – the body responsible for the promotion of DAB+ in Germany – has launched the first online store exclusively dedicated to DAB+ digital radio receivers.

Operated by Teleropa GmbH, the new online store – which is being promoted on air by radio stations – informs radio listeners about the wide range of DAB+ receivers that are available (including automotive adapters) and includes opening offers with discounts of up to 50% on certain well-known brands.

DAB+ continues to grow in Germany, with over 1.6 million DAB+ devices were sold in 2020 alone – a 23 percent increase compared to 2019.

A new national multiplex was launched in October 2020 – increasing the nationwide DAB+ offering with an additional 16 stations – and public broadcaster Deutschlandradio has started switching off FM transmitters in light of the continued uptake of DAB+.
