Give us a brief introduction to your organisation and the role it plays in the radio sector.
Gracenote is the largest provider of content data in the world. It provides solutions across TVs, automotive and audio products. We produce video data, audio data and sports data. We work with the largest entertainment companies in the world to help them power their experiences. For radio, we believe that DAB is a very important standard which is incredibly important to our customers, especially in the automotive space who are really trying to build a next generation of connected experiences that need radio at its core.
What DAB+ products or services are you showcasing at IBC2024?
We have our Nexus product, which is our next-generation automotive solution that includes radio station identification and audio identification to help the next generation of connected cars maximise the entertainment value of radio. It does this by providing a rich user experience to help users understand what radio stations they’re listening to, what the content is on that station, and how they can interact with it - then and later on.
What are you most looking forward to at IBC2024?
The joy of IBC is that the world of entertainment comes together in one location, business-to-business. You can see the entertainment trends that are driving the global economy here, and you can see everything from devices used to capture and create content, to the AI companies trying to power the next generation of consumer experience - you can see it all in one place.
What’s your best tip for a first-time visitor to IBC and/or Amsterdam?
One of the other real joys about IBC is the nice hours - so you can both attend your show and then go for an awesome dinner afterwards. Food in Amsterdam has got much better over the past decade, and there’s great places to eat there too.
