How do you see the digital radio industry evolving over the coming years?

DAB has become an established radio broadcasting platform and the support in the automotive industry has been really enhanced. Currently and in the future, it is becoming more and more important how DAB will coexist with other distribution platforms. For example, I'm thinking of service following between different reception sources of the same radio program. This should be as smooth as possible for the user and car manufacturers are spending significant work to optimize the behaviour of their radios.

What DAB+ products or services are showcasing at IBC 2019?

We are presenting our IT-based solutions for DAB head-ends. The latest major revision R7 of our IZT DAB ContentServer introduces powerful enhancements.

Furthermore, we are showing our RF test and measurement equipment. This includes the IZT S1010 Signal Generator, a flexible RF test source supporting modulation for various communication and broadcast standards.

In combination with our RF Recorders, customers can perform "virtual field tests" in the laboratory for DAB and other applications.

You are one of several WorldDAB members exhibiting at IBC 2019 – what value do you see in exhibiting at the show?

The IBC is the most important trade show for broadcasting in Europe. Our product portfolio can support customers in many areas. I've mentioned our solutions for DAB broadcasting and testing, but our portfolio also includes products for GNSS Testing, Satellite Link Emulators, Radio Direction Finders. The scope of the IBC is wide enough to cover the different fields we have solutions for.
