The Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) is hosting a series of webinars on digital radio for its members. A webinar on DAB+ digital radio, in collaboration with WorldDAB, is scheduled to start at 10.30 a.m. Eastern Caribbean time on Thursday April 12, 2018.
The CBU is a grouping of nearly four dozen media entities located in twenty-three (23) countries and territories in the English, Dutch, French and Spanish-speaking Caribbean and South America. The Union’s mandate includes: facilitating indigenous programme production and sharing; capacity-building of media institutions and professionals; joint negotiation of rights for programming; and advocacy in regional and international forums on policy and technology issues.
The webinar series will be available for all CBU members to join remotely via Zoom video-conferencing software – provided by CBU.
Participants will include also representatives from CBU member countries, as well as representatives from the Caribbean Community Intra Governmental Grouping CARICOM and the Caribbean Telecoms Union. Further background is available in the draft programme (attached).

Webinar background
The workshop will be hosted and introduced by Ms Sonia Gill, Secretary General of CBU.
CBU anticipate approximately 25 delegates to attend the webinar, which will be recorded and disseminated afterwards to CBU.
This webinar is the second of a series of three - the first webinar will discuss DRM and will take place prior to this second workshop on DAB+.
Participants will include also representatives from CBU member countries, as well as representatives from the Caribbean Community Intra Governmental Grouping CARICOM and the Caribbean Telecoms Union.
