The President of the German State has approved the allocation of frequencies for the country's second national DAB multiplex. The tender process for the new multiplex began recently and is expected to be completed by April 2017.

The National Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting in Ukraine put forward a proposal on 22 December 2016 to allocate spectrum for the deployment of DAB+. Executive Secretary of the National Council Oleksandr Ilyashenko said "We have long studied the experience of our European colleagues and concluded that it is necessary to give digital radio an opportunity to develop."

On 11th January at 11.11.11am  FM signal will be switched off in the Nordland region and radio will be broadcast via DAB+ instead. Communication Manager Mari Hagerup for Digitalradio Norway says "DAB coverage in Nordland will maintain high standards and that they are ready for the digital transition."

The new third generation Ruark Audio R2 is updated with new features. In addition to digital radio, dual alarm function or analogue connections the latest model now offers multiroom capabilities via Wi-Fi.

The number of local broadcasters in the Netherlands who broadcast via DAB+ is growing steadily. Recently local broadcasters Exxact FM (Barendrecht) and Radio City Delft have begun transmitting via DAB+. Both of these stations use the DAB+ network Omroep Vlaardingen

The RAS has further expanded the reception of digital radio DAB+ radio stations in South Tyrol. The RAS aims to begin switching off FM transmitters towards the end of 2017.

Reception of regional public and commercial stations via DAB+ has improved greatly in the Utrecht region

The electrical power operator Haugland Kraft in the south west of Norway will start DAB+ transmissions soon. Haugaland kraft will act as a network operator with its own transmitter network and will offer capacity in their DAB multiplexer to a number of local radio stations.

The Giulia QV will feature a high level of standard equipment, including a full leather cabin with snug-fitting sports seats, a high-end multimedia system with sat nav, digital radio and the latest in connectivity as well as a comprehensive suite of active safety systems such as automated emergency braking, lane departure and forward collision warnings.

Following consultation, the CSA has decided to revise the schedule of calls for candidacy to allocate DAB+ frequencies in France. Three major calls for applications are now planned: the first two, in July 2018 and at the latest in July 2019, will each focus on "fifteen zones centered on agglomerations of more than 175,000 inhabitants" and with a small number of local areas. The third call, envisaged mid-2018 this time will concern frequencies at the national level.
