The trend towards digitalisation continues: in Switzerland 54 percent of the radio is already consumed digitally. This is shown by a survey conducted by GfK Switzerland.

The family friendly radio station, Radio TEDDY, has officially launched on DAB+ in Baden-Württemberg.

In Switzerland, 54% of radio listening is now digital, as revealed in a new report by GfK. In Switzerland consumers listened to an average of 54 minutes via digital - via DAB+ or IP, one minute more than in the first half of 2016.

Almost 6 in 10 adults (aged 15+) currently listen to radio via a digital platform, according to the latest Rajar results for the final quarter of 2016. In an average week, digital listening accounts for 474 million hours - with DAB holding a 73% share of digital listening hours, digital TV 11% and online 16%.

It’s a smaller, less powerful version of the ISX-80 wireless speaker, with added DAB radio (hence the "D" suffix).

Digital listening in the UK has increased year-over-year to 45.2% share, up from 41.7% in Q4 2015, boosted by record levels of DAB digital listening, according to Rajar Q4 2016 data. Digital listening hours grew by 12% or 51.3 million hours compared to Q4 2015, driven by record growth in DAB hours which increased by 23% and online hours which increased by 14%.

Regina DAB Praha in the Czech Republic has more than doubled its weekly listening figures. The digital only radio station Czech Radio Wave has also added 1000 new listeners a week.

Erik Hevle, Sales Manager at Expert, said the store has seen a tenfold increase in digital radio sales and radio-related products between December and January. The increase in sales has been driven by the digital switchover currently taking place in Norway.

The share of all radio listening via a digital platform now stands at 45.2%. 31 million adults claim to own a DAB Radio, up 6% Year on Year.
