As European radio broadcasters adopt DAB/DAB+ and IP-based networking throughout their transmission infrastructures, GatesAir has optimised its high-efficiency Maxiva™ VAXTE transmitter for use in small-scale DAB/DAB+ radio installations requiring relatively lower power levels ranging from 10W up to 1kW.

Every CX-5 also gets folding door mirrors, dual-zone climate control, DAB radio, a seven-inch touchscreen, sat-nav and LED headlights as standard.

The hybrid radio is also part of this. It automatically switches between FM, DAB and the online stream, depending on the signal strength of a station, to ensure the best possible reception.

The top range versions will have a full standard equipment in which we find rear view camera, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, DAB radio, Bluetooth, rain sensor, automatic lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, control of cruise and parking sensors.

France's media regulator Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel (CSA) will conduct a public consultation period ahead of accepting applications to launch new DAB+ services in Paris, Marseille and Nice. Submissions will be accepted until 19 September.

WorldDAB has created a new Working Group, focused on the performance and user experience of aftermarket devices for DAB+ in the car. The Aftermarket Devices Working Group (ADWG) brings together broadcasters, device and antenna manufacturers, plus experts from the automotive industry, in an important collaboration for digital radio in the car.

Four stations have been confirmed as winners of the latest round of DAB+ tenders in the Ukraine. Army FM, and three stations of the Business Radio Group, Business Radio, DJ FM and Power FM were the winners of the round of tenders announced by the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine (NRADA) on 5 April.
