Digital Radio UK defends mono Absolute Radio on DAB

Grunding showcase new DAB+ receivers at CES Show

Grunding presented 3 DAB+ enabled receivers at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, one of the world’s biggest home electronics fairs. Director Product Marketing & Quality at Grundig Intermedia GmbH, gave a keynote speech at the event. He believes that the new additions to the Grundig audio range have the right stuff: “The Cosmopolit 4 WEB DAB+ and Cosmopolit 8 WEB DAB+ internet radios plus the Sonoclock 895 WEB DAB+ kitchen radio represent another step towards home connectivity and combine tradition with innovation.

EBU Digital Radio Toolkit 'Compete on content, co-operate in technology'

A major research project led by the Media Intelligence Service of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has identified a range of factors central to the successful deployment of terrestrial radio digitisation across Europe. The launch of the ‘Digital Radio Toolkit’ follows a six month-long investigation into the experiences and best practices of the three countries which are leading the launch of digital terrestrial radio in Europe: Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Bauer launch new 'greatest hits' radio station in Leeds

AGCOM lays out plans for extension of DAB+ in Italy

AGCOM, the Italian Media regulator, has published preliminary plans for the deployment of DAB+ national and regional networks throughout the country. The initial plans cover the Italian provinces of Turin, Cuneo, Aosta Valley, and Umbria. In those 4 areas, stations will all be heard on the same channels: for public broadcaster RAI, it will be 12B; for Euro DAB, it will be 12A; for Club DAB, it will be 12C.

Smooth Extra goes live on DAB

Global Radio has launched its latest new digital radio station on national DAB, replacing Smooth Xmas. The original Smooth Radio service continues to be available on local DAB in many parts of the country, alongside transmissions on FM and AM.
