In April 2006, the Czech Parliament started legislating towards digital broadcasting. Since then, the public broadcaster Czech Radio and the TELEKO Company have run regular trials of DAB and DAB+ on both Band III and L Band. Many of these took place in the town of Plzen and the Pribram region. In the past there have also been DMB trials, however, the industry is waiting for the government to make regulatory decisions on mobile TV in the country to overcome issues with lack of spectrum.

There are currently no regular DAB services in the Czech Republic, but there are trials on DAB and DAB+.
